200 STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL
We started in 1977 with just 2 students and 3 teachers but through our dedicated efforts we now have more than 200 happy students in our school. We are a school which caters to the education and communication needs of children who are hearing impaired and have Multiple Disabilities with Visual Impairment (MDVI).

There are about 26.81 million persons with disability in India (2011 Census). Among them, 4.1 million are in the employable age group of 19-29 years. The need of the hour is to ensure sustainable employment opportunities for this group of people to ensure that they are contributing citizens of the country.

An intensive 2-day workshop was conducted by our Director of Education services, Mrs. Sheela Sinha, with all the teachers of HKIDB. The topics were chosen from vital areas like communication and pre- literacy skills and the session involved not just presentations but also a lot of practical activities and video analysis.39th Founder’s Day celebrations.

This important day was celebrated with much enthusiasm and gusto and saw participation of all the teachers and students for the cultural program. The theme of the program was ‘Inclusive India: Relief for Chennai’. The show saw a host of colours, superb dance performances, great acting skills and brought out the talent and potential of all our children. Creating an inclusive society with no discrimination at home, community, work and overall society was the underlying message.Dental camp.

A dental camp was organized in the Vashi school where a thorough check up was done for every child. Where cavities and other complications were found, treatment was recommended and explained to the families for follow-up.
